A smoke-free yakitori restaurant one minute from Shinkaichi Station in Kobe. We grill each skewer over charcoal, and all of our chicken comes from Japan. Families with small children are always welcome.

Children are always welcome.

Sofa seats and roomy tables, and a kids menu too. Skewers can be ordered one at a time, and set meals are served in the evening — good for a dinner without drinks. The whole restaurant can be booked for up to 30 guests.

Yakitori restaurants can feel smoky and a little hard to walk into. We wanted to change that, so we made a bright, smoke-free yakitori restaurant — where children and grown-ups can share charcoal-grilled skewers at the same table.

How to order yakitori

  • Yakitori is ordered by the skewer. One serving is two skewers, but you can order just one.
  • “Salt” (塩 / shio) is seasoned simply with salt. “Sauce” (タレ / tare) is glazed with a sweet soy-based sauce.
  • Not sure where to start? Our assorted sets are an easy way to try several kinds.

About VESTA

Where our name comes from

Vesta is the Roman goddess of the hearth and home, keeper of a sacred fire that was never allowed to go out. We chose her name hoping to be a warm, home-like place where families can gather — and to share a little happiness through the fire we grill our yakitori over. We opened in Shinkaichi in May 2019.

What we are here for

Food served by warm-hearted people, in a warm place. That is what a “happy meal” means to us, and it is why we are here.

Can I pay by credit card or mobile payment?

Yes.

  • IC cards / e-money: Suica, ICOCA, PASMO and other transit IC cards, Rakuten Edy, iD, QUICPay, nanaco, WAON

How much does a meal cost?

Most guests spend ¥2,500–¥4,000 per person with yakitori, side dishes and drinks. Set meals alone are ¥820–¥2,150. All prices include tax.

Are children welcome?

Yes. Babies and children of all ages are welcome, and you can come in with a stroller. We have children’s chairs and a kids menu, and the whole restaurant is smoke-free.

Is smoking allowed?

No. The restaurant is smoke-free throughout, including e-cigarettes and heated tobacco, so that families can enjoy their meal with peace of mind.

Can you accommodate food allergies?

We do our best to accommodate allergies, so please tell our staff when you order. However, because cooking equipment is shared, we may not be able to remove an allergen completely. If you have a severe allergy, please call us before your visit.

Can I come without a reservation?

Yes. Walk-ins are welcome whenever seats are available. To be sure of a table, you can book through our online reservation page (open 24 hours, in Japanese) or by phone at 078-515-6909. For groups of 10 or more, please call us in advance.

Do your staff speak English?

Our staff speak Japanese only. Our in-store menu is also in Japanese, so please feel free to show the Japanese names on this page or use a translation app. We will do our best to help.

Do you offer halal or vegetarian food?

We are sorry, but we do not offer halal or vegetarian menus. For some dishes, we may be able to leave out certain ingredients on request, but not for every dish. Please ask our staff when you order.

Can you host a group or a private party?

We can seat up to 30 guests, and the whole restaurant can be booked privately for groups of 20 or more. Courses range from ¥2,000 to ¥4,500 per person (with or without all-you-can-drink). Please contact us by phone to discuss.

Can I come alone?

Of course. Solo guests are very welcome.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, free Wi-Fi is available. Please ask our staff for the password.

Do you offer takeout or delivery?

Takeout is available for items on our takeout menu. Delivery is available through Uber Eats and Demae-can.

We have no parking of our own. If you park at Mitsui Repark Shinkaichi-ekimae next door, show your parking ticket when you pay: ¥100 off for every ¥700 you spend (up to ¥600).
